Disney Fantasy launches at last

The sister ship of the Disney Dream launched in New York this week with the lovely Mariah Carey and Mickey Mouse christening her.

I had the opportunity to visit the Dream last year  and I was so pleasantly surprised by what the ship had to offer

On entering the ship you are greeted by the staff members who announce you as a family and greeted with claps and cheers from everyone in the lobby area.

What is brilliant about Disney is the facilites for families they even have their own superb creche for the youngest of children which a lot of ships do not cater for

The picture aboves shows the Kids area only for teens , how brilliant with  its own pool area, a mini adults only section,

I am so glad that another Disney favourite, Disney Magic is returning to Europe for Summer 2013, the fact that all your soft drinks are already included in the prices means you don’t have to worry about your drinks bill been too big,

Would you spend a £1million on a cruise??

Recently in the paper there has been much discussion about a how you can spend £1 million per couple on a luxurious cruise..by doing the following:

Travel by helicopter to airport

*  Fly Private Jet to Los Angeles

* Four nights Bevereley Wiltshire

* 114 nights cruise on the Silver Whisper

* Four nights post stay in a Luxury Villa in Miami and full transfers in a Rolls Royce.

As it stands at the moment , I am not a millionaire but if I was, would I do the above??, maybe not but the whole thing does sound pretty good

Carnival Legend Departs UK for 2013

Yes it is true  Carnival Legend is travelling over the transatlantic for Summer 2013  to depart from Dover

So what do we know about Carnival??????

* They are known to the world as fabulous fun ships with 23 ships in total over the Carribean and across Europe

* Ultra Modern Facilities

* Great Entertainment

* Camp Carnival from ages 2 and above

* Choice of Casual and Main Dining

Carnival Legend has a capacity of 2121 passengers so is a mid size ship with over 88,000 tons, it  is the 3rd ship in the Spirit class, and was the first to have alternative dining and also onboard wedding chapels, it also offers  over 80% of the cabins as outside cabins.

The main theme onboard Carnival Legend is, of course about the great legends of the world. The theme is carried out throughout Carnival Legend’s 12 passenger decks, 16 lounges, and indoor and outdoor promenades. The “Fun Ship” has it all including a nine-deck-high atrium, an onboard golf program, a duty-free shopping mall, a video arcade and  children’s play area, so have a dip in the Camelot pool or a flutter in the Merlins Casino

Carnival Legend features three restaurants. A poolside eatery features breakfast, lunch and dinner buffets, and a 24-hour pizzeria. The full-service restaurant, Truffles, is a two-level 1,250-seat dining room with an excellent range of menus. There’s also an intimate steakhouse-style restaurant  offering prime  beef. The surcharge to eat there is $25 per person.

Passengers can can choose traditional main or late seating dining, or opt for the flexible choice and eat anytime between 5:30 and 9:30 p.m.

Also available on all of Carnival’s ships is The Chef’s Table dining experience, which affords a dozen passengers a multicourse dinner with a master chef, a private cocktail reception  This dining option is a cost of $75  per-person and I am sure it will be worth every penny

Music lovers alike will enjoy Satchmo’s Lounge and Billie’s Piano Bar,or the Adult Only Sernity area where you can dance the night away in Medusa’s Dance Club .

Kids have one of three supervised youth areas, Camp Carnival  is offered as an enclosed play area away from the adult activites, the Fun house as they call it is split in to three age groups from aged 2 to 15 , Carnival also offers a Fountain Fun card where you can purchase unlimited soft drinks , there is a childrens wading pool and a corkscrew waterslide, please remember though is your child is younger and still in  nappies, they will not allow them in the pool areas.

Overall there is a lot of action on this ship and the fact it is doing the Med it is also doing Noreay and the Baltics, which means you can have both adventure and fun as a family.

Transatlantic journey with a Northern Twist

The Carribean Princess is leaving San Juan on the 29th April and doing a Northern run via New York and across to Greenock. So great news for us Northerner’s

Who says it’s ‘ Grim up North’…………..

Princess certainly don’t think so, you can either leave San Juan or New York so maybe arrange a few extra nights to extend you trip back to Greenock before she heads back down south to Southampton

So what is in Greenock??  Well, you are a 45 minute drive from the European city of culture, that is Glasgow, if you would like a tipple of the Scottish whisky then visit the infamous Glengoyne Distillery for a wee Dram or if you prefer the surrounding country side of the nearby castles.

Queen Mary did a transatlantic last year, so for Princess to do it this time round  is just grand……..I do get a bit of stick from my Southern colleagues about my Northern accent and we have a few giggles about it. especially as I am a Yorkshire lass. born and bred.

The Carribean Princess carries just over 3000 passengers , she was the first ship to introduce Movies Under the Stars, where you can sit and watch the latest movies, concerts or sporting events in the comfort of your sunlounger, or if you prefer you can watch a Broadway style show in the Princess theatre.

Everything on board is US Dollars , if you want to know about tipping and drinks prices, then order our new Complete Cruise Brochure which is full of the latest  information you will need to know or you can view it online.

Please view my My Super Deals for the best prices , or call me for the latest availablity and information about the ship itself,.

I would love to hear from you……….

Cruising is now even more safer than ever before……

History has repeated itself 100 years down the line….. not on the scale of the Titanic but still a tragedy all the same..

I can’t help thinking on this one though, the Captain seems to hold most of the responsiblity of this one as  I am sure a lot of us agree.

This horrific disaster has and will have so many unanswered questions. The one in my mind is the saftey drill of Costa and the underlying law( I am assuming Italian law) says that the muster drill needs to have taken place within 24 hours of setting of from port, can I just say that is ludicrous, I was particulary shocked about that, but again , we wouldn’t have judged Costa for that, as all those other passengers on the Concordia at the time just took it as gospel it is their way and just accepted and trusted it was the right thing to do.

On all the cruise ships I have been on, all muster drills have taken place before the ship has left the port. So why are Costa so different?? Would the rescue mission have been more organised??  Would this have happened if the correct procedure was in place?? Things happen for a reason and this is one huge lesson that Costa will have to learn.

The Carnival Group are now taking a comprehensive review of all safety and emergency response procedures across all its ships, and I am sure all the other cruise lines are too just to make sure. so cruising anywhere now would be safer than ever before.

Here is to the brighter and safer future of cruising…. I am going to book my family cruising trip now with www.cruise.co.uk  and cannot wait.

Just a reminder for all you families out there…..

The cruise deals are out there, and you need to get them fast

Now is the right time to get booked, the availability goes in blink of an eye

As more and more extended families are now cruising you have to be on the ball to get what you want

For eg; I have recently booked 2 families for a weeks cruise and even for this August it has took time and effort to get cabins next to each other or opposite, I managed to get what they wanted and they were so grateful as they had been trying for ages and really struggled, so yes you can wait last minute but alot are now guarantee cabins only so if you want 2 cabins you have no chance of getting them together and prices are not that much cheaper either.

There are cruise deals out there , and thats what we are here for to take the pressure of you and find the right deal for you

Some good deals to be had for example Msc for the Summer holidays for 7 nights with flights from London for a family of four is from £ 2500 for an Inside Cabin, , Thomson have got their  Free All Inclusive which can save £ 200 per person on top of the early booking discounts, they are ust a few of the deals that cruise lines have on offer and we are doing extra savings too.

Tips to remember…….

If you are taking a family friend or family member with you , on some cruises line you need a letter fron the parents and a solicitor to gt authorisation to travel.

Some cruise lines children prices can be up to 17 years of age.

Schools Holiday cruises sell very quickly so book early.

If some cruise lines are offering free coach travel , please beware it is only free for the first 2 passengers travelling.

So if you need some advise on how to go about your cruising adventure, then give me call I will help you get the right cruise for you and your family.
